About the Friends of the LibraryAs Friends of Multnomah County Library, we encourage inquiring, imagining, dreaming, creating, and discovering. We enhance the library and all its branches as advocates to strengthen and protect the entire system. The Friends of Multnomah County Library is a non-profit community organization dedicated to supporting the Multnomah County Library. We accomplish this primarily by promoting public involvement in the Library and by raising money through the Friends’ Library Store and an annual book sale. The Friends conduct Oregon’s largest book sale (more than 100,000 items). And we have a Friends’ Library Store in the Central Library, a joy to visit with its book-related items such as literary T-shirts and tote bags, writing materials, and cards -- all with words of wisdom. Profits from the book sale and the store go to our library system. So, you see that becoming a Friend helps a friend, your library. top
