Board of Directors Carol CliftonCarol has been a volunteer with the Friends of the Library for over a decade, initially working in the book sorting room packing books, then at all the FOL book sales except for the 2001 sale when she was in New York City with the Red Cross after 9/11. She is the co-chair for the book sale for 2007. While working in the book sorting room, she noticed that romance books were not being sold at the book sales and did some internet research which launched a sideline of selling the romance books on ebay for FOL under the name: luv4salebooks. Not being a romance reader herself, she went to her friendly local neighborhood library, Midland Library, to learn about the genre. Carol came by her love of libraries at an early age when she made trips to the library three days a week to choose the five books she was allowed to check out at a time. She then worked in her junior high, high school and college libraries, and for many years had a dream of owning a bookstore in the Rockies. Her first career was in journalism and she was also involved in some book publishing. She then taught journalism for a few years before returning to graduate school. Now she is a psychologist in private practice in Clackamas. previous •back to board • next top
