Erin is trying to catch up on all the classic literature that she feels she should have read by now and so is devouring works by such notables as Woolf, Joyce, Nabokov, Orwell, Faulkner, Atwood, Salinger, Kesey, Hughes, Vonnegut, Hemingway, Emerson, Thoreau, and Ellison.

Erin Barnhart

Erin Barnhart joined the Friends of the Library Board in 2006. Raised in Roseburg, she received a B.A. in Geography from the University of Oregon in 1997, spent 10 months volunteering with AmeriCorps in the Central U.S., and then lived in Portland for several years before returning to Eugene for an M.P.A. in Public Policy and Graduate Certificate in Not-for-Profit Management in 2004. Before moving back to Portland last summer to begin full-time work on a Ph.D. in Urban Studies, Erin spent nine months in British Columbia, Canada on a Fulbright Scholarship. She now lives in downtown Portland and is frequently hopping off the Streetcar to spend time at the Central Library branch.
