Kurt Krause

Some of his favorite authors and books are any of those in which the protagonists relocate to a European country. They have a story arc similar to a sea adventure in three acts in which the characters set out with great expectations, confront the big storm (challenges in adapting to the new environment) and surmounting the obstacles, sail into a safe port (the locals accept them and no longer take advantage of their naivete). He can't wait for the next one.

Kurt Krause

Kurt joined the FOL board in May, 2007. He feels that the library has held an important place in his life since he could first print his name and get his first library card. He and his wife Eleanor feel that the library system adds much to the richness of the community. They have volunteered at the Used Book Sales. Kurt has also collected signatures to help pass the recent library levy. Other volunteer activities that he has assisted with are: City Club of Portland, Eastmoreland Neighborhood Association Board and Southeast Uplift League. His is a retired Human Resources Vice President.
