Board of Directors Mary Ellen SomervilleMary Ellen moved to Portland from NYC in 2004 when she retired from a long career as an English teacher in an inner-city high school. She grew up in a very small town without a library and has been trying to make up for lost reading opportunities ever since. She is familiar with Friends groups having served as the secretary for the Friends of George Bruce Library in NYC for many years.. Living in Portland allows her to spend more time with her daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. Other than visiting the Hollywood Library her favorite activities include attending concerts, lectures, movies and exploring Portland with her grandchildren. previous •back to board • next top
