Board of Directors Steven Pascal-JoinerSteven Pascal-Joiner spent the first few years of his life in Hood River and Aloha, absorbing the feeling of the northwest. After moving away from Oregon, it took him 23 years and 12 cities to return and figure out that how he feels about Oregon is what other people refer to as "feeling at home." A lifelong learner, reader, and writer, Steven can't remember a time when books and libraries were not an integral part of his life. He is a huge fan of the often undervalued genres of science fiction and fantasy. Steven was a teacher for over ten years. He has taught reading, high school English, English as a second language, and special education. Now Steven works for the nonprofit resource website Idealist.org. His volunteer experience includes working with organizations like: SE Works, KBOO, Springboard Innovation, I Have A Dream, and the Multnomah County Parks and Recreation department. When he's not working, volunteering, reading, or writing, Steven can probably be found listening to music (of all kinds), watching movies (ditto), hiking and biking somewhere, or "playing" bass guitar. previous •back to board • next top
