Staff Shannon Brown - Book Room AssistantShannon recently joined the staff of the Friends and is eagerly looking forward to her first book sale. She is a 30-year resident of Portland (with a brief stint in Malawi as a Peace Corp volunteer), and has survived several career changes to end up doing what she loves best - working with books and people who love to read. When not working, Shannon volunteers at SMART (Start Making a Reader Today), researches her family tree and travels. She founded the Friends of Malawi Book Project and has shipped over 60,000 books donated by Portland schools to dozens of small libraries in Malawi.
