Have gently used books or media you’re ready to part with? Your in-kind donation supports the Multnomah County Library and helps us raise funds through our book sales.
What Can I Donate?
We gratefully accept items in good, clean condition—something you'd proudly give a friend! You're welcome to bring one bag or box of materials per day to:
Any Multnomah County Library location during open hours
Our new bookstore, Rose City Reads at 221 NE 122nd Ave. Suite A
(Open Tuesday–Saturday, 11 AM–5 PM)
We Gladly Accept:
Popular fiction (published 2014 or newer)
Paperbacks and hardcovers of classics and award-winning authors
Science fiction, graphic novels, and comics
Nonfiction (all subjects)
Vintage and rare books
Travel guides (published 2022 or newer)
Audiobooks on CD
DVDs, vinyl records, sheet music, pamphlets, maps, and other ephemera
What We Can’t Accept:
Ex-library books
Books that are torn, dirty, moldy, water-damaged, or have strong odors
Heavily marked-up books (lots of writing, highlighting, or underlining)
Magazines or Reader’s Digest condensed books
Harlequin or Love Inspired mass-market paperbacks
Computer books from before 2020
Encyclopedias or Time-Life book sets
Textbooks or dictionaries from before 2014
VHS tapes or audio cassettes
CDs (music)
