Have gently used books or media youβre ready to part with? Your in-kind donation supports the Multnomah County Library and helps us raise funds through our book sales.
What Can I Donate?
We gratefully accept items in good, clean conditionβsomething you'd proudly give a friend! You're welcome to bring one bag or box to Any Multnomah County Library location during open hours. Have more than that? Youβre welcome to bring up to 5 boxes per day to our bookstore, Rose City Reads at 221 NE 122nd Ave. Suite A (Open TuesdayβSaturday, 11 AMβ5 PM)
We Gladly Accept:
Popular fiction published 2016 or newer
Paper and hardcover classics (nominated and award-winning authors, any year)
Science fiction, graphic novels, and comics
Childrenβs Picture books in good condition
Most Nonfiction (see below)
Vintage and rare books
Travel guides published 2023 or newer
DVDs, vinyl records, pamphlets, maps, and ephemera
Video Games, puzzles, and board games (complete and in good condition)
What We Do Not Accept:
Ex-library books
Books that are torn, dirty, moldy, water-damaged, or have strong odors
Heavily marked-up books (lots of writing, highlighting, or underlining)
Magazines or Readerβs Digest condensed books
Self-Help or Diet books older than 2021
Harlequin or Love Inspired mass-market paperbacks
Computer books from before 2021
Encyclopedias or Time-Life book sets
Textbooks or dictionaries from before 2016
VHS tapes or audio cassettes
Music CDs or Audiobooks on CD
Sheet Music
