The money raised by the Friends of the Library directly funds Multnomah County Library’s National Library Workers Day events, the Adult Summer Reading program, and other vital library initiatives. 

In the 2024 - 2025 fiscal year, Friends invested more than $250,000 in programs, partnerships, equipment, and initiatives that strengthen our library system and enrich the lives of thousands of patrons.

Friends of the Multnomah County Library was able to contribute to the following:

• Recognition of library staff through National Library Workers’ Day

• Continued support for PageTurners Book Club groups

• Collaboration with One Book One Coast to strengthen regional library partnerships

• Sponsorship of the Bloom Tour Downtown Showcase

• Sponsorship of the Wildwood Follow the Crows Art Trail

• Support for the Read 4 Life Adult Summer Reading Program

• Replacement of critical industrial cutting equipment in the Library Print Shop

• Final multi-year funding towards East County Library

These projects reflect what Friends has done for more than five decades: providing flexible funding where it can make the greatest impact while advocating for a strong, accessible public library system for everyone.
